Details: This opulent velvet appliqué is a creative interpretation of a rare antique velvet, dating from the 17th century. The elegant scrolling pattern of stylised pomegranate and lily leaves and flowers harnesses the Italianate flavour of the antique velvet. Featuring a distressed cotton twill ground punctuated with bold embroidered stitching which has been space dyed to add character and a vintage look, the design also features contrast embroidery with hand-embroidered cord effect edging.
